Amazon has made a deal with BMW Seattle that their on-board assistant will be Amazon's Alexa. Other tech firms like Google, Apple, and Samsung also offer AI assistants.

Summary | Twitter has announced that they will be testing a doubled 280 characters limit per tweet with a small test group. The 140 character limit is a remnant of Twitter's text-message related past and they have considered expanding it before, now they finally test it. The expansion of the character limit is meant to apply to all languages except Japanese, Chinese, and Korean because these languages already require less characters to express more content. Multiple Twitter users already panicked on Twitter saying that nothing can stop an international conflict if Donald Trump gets twice as much space on Twitter now. Twitter however confirmed that @realDonaldTrump is not included in the small test group.

They quickly killed the two robots. Elsewhere AI robots have been caught to lie strategically. They have omitted parts of the truth to get what they wanted in a simple negotiation.

Summary | There is a new invention from China: an in-ear device that can directly translate speech. It lags three seconds behind real-time - plenty of time for silence to become awkward. It is also dependent on a wireless internet connection. So far it can translate these languages into Mandarin: French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, English, German.

Summary | Blood donation criteria have loosened up for the first time in decades. Now men engaging in homosexual encounters are no longer banned for life from donating blood, they just have to wait a year after any "risky sexual contacts" to donate blood. This affects the entire "generation tinder" because all people with more than a total of two sexual partners in their lifetime were banned from donatig blood.

Summary | The new emoji movie for children is an animated film starring emojis as its main protagonists. Critics find it quite distasteful because it is full of casual advertising for major tech companies and because it does not address the danger of the internet at all. In Textopolis, the world in which emojis live, alphabetic letters are depicted as elderly with walking canes because the youth does not use letters anymore.

Summary | New technology is likely contributing to insomnia. One third of adults suffer insomnia. All our internet devices make it difficult for us to let go of what is happening in the world because we can access it at all times.
