Summary | In his new book called "Facebook generation", Roberto Simanowski positions himself between the cultural pessimists and the digital euphorics. He does fear for our language competence and tied to it our memory. We tend to posts selfies and emojis rather than put our feelings into words. We tend to post a link to a song, a video, or an article rather than paraphrase that information make our point in an original sentence. This leads to the degeneration of our language ability and that inability to process information in our own words prevents the creation of memories. Instead we leave a huge digital data trail online.

Summary | A Bernese office employee had been tweeting nude images from her office to her 11'000 followers. She works for the Swiss government, whose employment policies ask employees to only post thing on social media that they would be comfortable sharing with their co-workers and supervisors as well and to keep the Swiss government's reputation in mind even when they are off the clock. The secretary in question, who has participated in several hundred amateur porn films as is now confirmed, claims that her private life does not interfere with her professional life in any way and that they should be kept seperate. It is unclear how her employers will handle the situation.

Summary | The author of the article talks about how streets look different now; he used to look at people in the streets, listen to their conversations, but now most of the people outside walk staring at their screens. They talk to people they cannot see, feel, smell. They take pictures of themselves and read e-books. It's a new way of communication that not only occurs in the streets but also in bars, restaurants, alone or in groups. The author claims he is more afraid of the "homo tecnologicus" than cars that don't respect pedestrian crossings.
