The new campaign also includes the two hasthags #PepsiMoji and #SayItWithPepsi to encourage consumers to post about their purchase on social media. Coca Cola recently had a similar campaign with first names on their bottles. They had been very successful with making consumers engage with the company through social media. Consumers basically did free marketing for them by posting pictures of Coke bottles with their names on their private accounts.

Summary | Comment sections on any internet page of social media platform are notorious for displaying the worst in people. Social media is designed in such a way that it shelters its users into 'ideological echo chambers' and the isolation effect of the internet liberates people to be cruel with their language. Wikipedia has somehow managed to have a fairly respectful forum culture on their website even though it has not always been like this.

It is designed to make users happy, to mirror their preferences, and encapsulates them in a bubble of their own interests isolating them from opposed content. This is very dangerous when people slip into violent extremist circles online. The government and social media corporations should work together on breaking this bubble effect to make sure everyone sees a piece of 'reality' every once in a while.
