Twitter to trial upping 140-character limit to 280 so you can say everything you want to say

Summary | YouTube has faced much crticism because they have failed to withhold advertising from grossly offensive content on their platform, for instance terrorist or anti-semite videos. Advertisers have pulled back their payments in response. YouTube creators are also unhappy because a lot of their non-offensive videos are deemed not advertiser-friendly by the algorithm so they cannot monetize from those videos. This has led to a lot of censorship of eating disorder and LGBTQ content. YouTube overall seems to be more advertiser-friendly than creator-friendly.

Summary | Twitter has been struggling with trolls, racists, and sexists since its advent but now a new motivation has presented itself. When investors such as Disney pull back their offers, Twitter headquarters begin to seriously look into the matter again. Twitter did very little to combat users who are only on Twitter to insult other users - they can be suspended but it is impossible to keep them from creating another anonymous account. For now, users can choose to mute certain words, posts, or threads so that they don't receive notifications for hateful content.
